NIGHT SKY CANINES
NIGHT SKY CANINES
Hey there! My name is Gillian Krueger and I am just a lady who
loves dogs.
*All dogs. Not just “my” breeds. Of course there are some breeds I prefer over others for my family, but honestly I believe all breeds are good dogs. Great dogs. I admire the Heelers for their work ethic, I’m captivated by the size and beauty of the Great Dane. I look to the Pit Bull when I feel misunderstood and love the way a Chihuahua can make a grown man back away with their fierce protective nature. I have loved dogs since I was barely able to belly crawl to our 80 pound yellow Lab named Virago when I was just a baby . . . I guess you could say that bond stayed with me.
Night Sky Shepherds is a third-generation dog breeder dedicated to producing healthy, sound, and well-balanced German Shepherd puppies. As a small-scale, responsible breeder, our focus is always on the health, temperament, and proper development of every puppy we raise.
German Shepherds are an intelligent working breed that require consistent physical and mental exercise. They also need early and ongoing socialization with both people and other dogs. Because of this, we place our puppies with families who are prepared to meet the needs of an active, highly trainable breed.
Night Sky Canines also offers health consultations, education, dog and puppy training, and a personalized dog match program. Our dog match program is designed to help individuals and families find the perfect companion for their lifestyle. We work with shelters, rescues, and responsible breeders to connect people with dogs that best fit their needs and environment.
With over 30 years of combined experience, our mission is to support healthy dogs and informed, successful dog ownership.
CONTINUING EDUCATION
is very important to me. I read constantly, subscribe to podcasts, and take classes as I continue to learn. I have taken several classes through AKC including ABC’s of Dog Breeding, Breeding Systems, Pedigree, Genetics Part 1 & 2, Nutritional Influences on Reproduction, Whelping and Medical Intervention, and AKC Breeding Basics. Starting in March of 2024, I began knocking down classes at Animal Behavior Institute, Inc. to obtain certifications in Service and Therapy Training, Canine Behavior, and Advanced Canine Training.
As of 2025, I have my canine behavior certification and am close to obtaining my other certifications. Classes I have taken through ABI include Canine Health and Nutrition, Canine Behavior and Enrichment, Canine Training, The Human Animal Bond, Therapy-Dog Training, and Working with People and Animals.
SCENT TRAINING
I am learning scent training through a couple school books and have started that training adventure with Nova. We both enjoy tracking together and are learning how to better communicate with one another. It’s a very fun way for her to blow off some of that Shepherd energy as well.
